Henry asked in a low voice, “Lord Mage, you aren't going to make me subjugate this goblin tribe, are you? Maybe we should head back. I feel like we should take adventuring one step at a time.”
They were only two apprentices, and this was near a volcano. If there was a ranked monster in the goblin tribe, the two of them wouldn't even have time to run!
Lynn shook his head. “Just stay here and watch.”
With that, Lynn relied on his Stealth effect and stepped straight out of the bushes.
Since there was still some distance to the cave and it was already late, the guards didn't notice Lynn as he stepped out of the bushes.
It was only when he was about a dozen meters away that the two guards sensed something was slightly off.
The goblins warily scanned their surroundings.
But after adventuring for this period, Lynn's Stealth level had already reached Lv.3, and with the aid of Mimicry, even though he stood openly only a dozen meters away from them, they still couldn't detect his presence.
The two guards exchanged glances, both sensing the other's unease.
But just as they hesitated to alert their kin inside the cave, it was already too late.
A beam of purple magical energy suddenly lit up the darkness.
The purple light spewing from the staff instantly struck one goblin's chest.
Almost without needing to aim, 「Eldritch Blast」 precisely hit the target Lynn intended to strike.
After all, 「Eldritch Blast」 was a beam-type attack, and Lynn also had 「Evocation Control」 to guide it, so there was absolutely no reason for it to miss.

Although the utility of 「Echolocation」 had decreased significantly after he unlocked the 【Truesight】 Feat, the Feat, after all, only enhanced Lynn's vision and didn't grant him X-ray vision. 「Echolocation」, however, could do exactly that.
Even though the goblins were still inside the cave and out of his line of sight, the narrow cave allowed the effects of Echolocation to be maximized, giving Lynn a crystal-clear map of the monsters' positions.
After channeling for a few seconds through the gun-staff in his hand, a 「Magic Missile」 shot out, blasting into the densest crowd of monsters.
The first goblin was pierced right through.

The Magic Missile only lost its momentum upon hitting the second goblin, caving its chest in.
Immediately after, the Lv.2 "Explosion" effect triggered. The magical energy contained within the missile detonated, its power further amplified by the fire magic imbued by the staff.
Every goblin within a three-meter radius was sent flying by the shockwave of the explosion, slamming hard into the walls.
Those closest to the blast had half of their bodies reduced to a bloody pulp.

However, as a low growl echoed from inside the cave, the dense crowd of goblins quickly dispersed, denying Lynn the chance to easily harvest them further.
But it didn't matter.
Even without 「Magic Missile」, Lynn could easily hold off the goblin offensive with 「Eldritch Blast」 alone!
The long purple beam of magical energy pierced through the air, curving around corners to strike the goblins inside the cave.
Before they could even spot their enemy, the goblins watched their companions collapse one after another.
This purple beam seemed as though it would never stop, sweeping continuously through the cave.
Piercing through one goblin, the beam immediately shifted to the next.
Even the chaotic evil goblins felt a chill of dread, and their charge began to slow.
By now, they hadn't even caught sight of the enemy, yet only a handful of their companions remained standing!
For the first time, the goblins tasted true terror in the face of beyond-visual-range combat.
But from behind them, another commanding urge echoed.
Accompanied by heavy footsteps, a massive goblin—so large that its hunched back nearly scraped the rocky ceiling of the cave—slowly emerged from the depths.
