The next morning, Freya looked at War Freya standing before her, lapsing into a brief silence.
After recalling War Freya into the system yesterday, she had completely forgotten about this. As a result, now that she had summoned her again, War Freya was naturally still in a ‘battle-damaged’ state—her clothes in tatters, her bare feet touching the floor.
She certainly couldn’t let War Freya meet Victor and David looking like this. Not only would it completely shatter the prestige of the Wheel of Destiny, but it would also be a struggle for her to even reach the meeting place in such a state. Walk down the street in broad daylight like this? That would be way too embarrassing.
And so, Freya first dragged War Freya into the bathroom for a bath, washing her thoroughly from head to toe before picking out a suitable set of clothes. Only then did she send War Freya on her way.
At the same time, Freya pondered to herself that she needed to find a way to get War Freya an outfit that wouldn’t get damaged so easily. Whether it was exceptionally durable or possessed self-repairing properties, either would work. Otherwise, having her clothes get shredded in every high-intensity battle was just too miserable.
By comparison, War Freya didn’t really need weapons that much. Weapons with special effects—such as inflicting bonus lightning or fire damage—felt like mere icing on the cake. Freya’s raw physical damage was already off the charts; she didn’t lack that extra bit of firepower.
As for swords and blades that lacked special effects and were merely sharp and sturdy, they were even less necessary.
Unless she could get War Freya a weapon capable of striking the soul or attacking the will, which would indeed compensate for her shortcomings. Then again, with so many clones at Freya’s disposal, as long as they acted together, they would hardly have any weaknesses at all.
That morning, inside an unremarkable roadside café, Victor and David waited with a mixture of excitement and trepidation. There was still some time before the appointed meeting, but likely hoping to leave a good impression on War Freya, both had arrived very early.
David’s excitement was understandable. After all, this was an opportunity he had long dreamed of—a chance to join an extraordinary organization!
But looking at Victor across from him, who was just as thrilled as he was, David couldn’t quite fathom it. “Aren’t you already an extraordinary?” David asked. “Why are you so eager to join this extraordinary organization too?”
Victor gave a light cough. “Hey, that just shows what you don’t know. Extraordinary organizations naturally vary in strength. Some are just a rabble of Rank Ones and Rank Twos huddled together for warmth, while others are unfathomably deep!”
“Without a doubt, the Wheel of Destiny belongs to the latter. Its background must be immense! You can easily tell just from that red-haired girl’s strength, alright? She suppressed the entire cult single-handedly! She resolved this cult crisis all on her own!”
From Victor’s perspective, he had no idea Mind Freya even existed, nor did he know that War Freya had ultimately dumped the out-of-control Holy Blessing Society leader onto Trig. As far as he was concerned, War Freya had solved the crisis completely on her own. She was unbelievably, ridiculously strong!
Victor continued, “You have to understand, the strongest extraordinaries in the entire Kingdom of Tarapaca right now are only Rank Six, yet that red-haired girl is at least Rank Five. And she’s merely an ordinary member of the organization! It’s hard to imagine what kind of powerhouse the founder of the Wheel of Destiny must be.”
“I think it’s very likely a demigod! And a demigod of the Destiny Pathway at that!”
After all, the organization’s name contained 【Destiny】, and coupled with that bizarre constant luck Freya possessed, Victor suspected it was most likely some sort of blessing granted by this big shot.
David showed a look of sudden realization, exclaiming, “Th-that amazing?”
Yet the more formidable Victor made the Wheel of Destiny sound, the more David felt out of his depth. If this organization was so powerful, was an ordinary guy like him really qualified to join?
Creak~
Just then, the café door pushed open, and War Freya walked in. Casting a quick glance around, she spotted David and Victor and headed straight toward them. Sitting down across from them with familiar ease, she crossed her legs. “Hello. We meet again.”
David and Victor immediately stiffened, looking like job applicants in an interview. David stammered, “Um... well, if we want to join, do we need to pass some kind of test or trial, or pay any price?”
However, War Freya replied, “No need for that. Now that Fufu has recommended you, all it takes is a nod from our organization’s leader, 【Miss Destiny】, and you can join directly. And in fact, 【Destiny】 has already agreed to it.”
Victor blinked in surprise. “Huh? Th-they just agreed, just like that?”
David chimed in, “I’m just an ordinary person. Is it really okay?”
War Freya chuckled. “There’s nothing wrong with it. After all, what the Wheel of Destiny values is not the present. Under the revelations of fate, a person’s future is clearly visible. So while you may be ordinary now, that might not be the case in the future.”
“Just look at Fufu. Isn’t she just an ordinary person too? Yet the organization took the initiative to seek her out and invite her to join. 【Miss Destiny】 even seems to hold her in high regard. Of course... I don’t know much more beyond that.”
Stunned by these words, David and Victor were left speechless, freezing in their seats as they quietly processed War Freya’s remarks: 【What matters is not the present, but the future】.
From an investment perspective, investing in someone who was already successful certainly couldn’t compare to investing in someone destined for future success who hadn’t succeeded yet. Once that person reached greatness, the organization would gain a powerful and loyal extraordinary. Victor couldn’t help marveling inwardly at how brilliant this was!
Especially when he glanced at the thrilled David beside him. This guy was the absolute prime example; once David truly became a powerful extraordinary, his loyalty to the Wheel of Destiny would surely be off the charts.
No, forget the future—the kid’s loyalty was already bordering on maximum right now!
At that moment, War Freya pulled out two sheets of paper and pushed them toward the pair. “Of course, necessary precautions are still required. This is a contract. Once signed, you will be unable to disclose any information regarding the Wheel of Destiny to outsiders, nor may you commit any act of betrayal against the organization. Aside from these two conditions, however, the contract will not restrict your other actions in any way.”
“If you agree, sign your names, and then I’ll take you to see the organization’s meeting place.”
These two contracts had naturally been drafted yesterday by Law Freya, who then asked Euphy to make a quick trip using her teleportation ability to deliver them.
