Southwest of Starfall Forest.
A continuous drum of heavy footsteps echoed.
An army of three thousand trolls was marching slowly through the forest.
Every troll was tall and heavily built, their bodies bulging with solid muscle. Clad in crude hide armor and wielding heavy stone axes or bone hammers, they exuded a fierce, oppressive aura that filled the entire forest. Ordinary magical beasts had long since scattered in terror upon catching their scent.
At the very front of the procession marched a towering figure whose aura far surpassed that of an ordinary troll. He was the commander of this army—Savagebone.
“Lord Savagebone!”
A lightly armored troll scout rushed over and knelt on one knee, his expression deeply respectful.
Savagebone furrowed his brows. He raised his hand and ordered in a deep voice, “Halt.”
The troll guards beside him immediately raised their crescent-shaped beast-horn horn.
“Wooo—!”
The long, low blast of the horn pierced through the dense forest, echoing for miles.
The marching army of three thousand trolls stopped in their tracks. Instantly, the entire forest fell dead silent, save for the howling wind.
“What happened ahead?”
Savagebone asked in a deep voice.
The scout immediately replied respectfully, “Lord Savagebone, we found a ruined caravan ahead. There are human corpses and scattered supplies everywhere nearby. It looks like a human caravan was attacked.”
“And...” He paused. “We also spotted a suspicious human sneaking around the scene.”
“A human caravan?” A flash of surprise crossed Savagebone's eyes. He was about to press for details—
when suddenly, a calm, hoarse voice drifted over from behind, carrying an unquestionable authority:
“What is it? Has there been some unexpected turn of events?”
The speaker was not a hulking troll, but a rather lean beastkin.
He wore a grayish-black Shaman robe, his rough, dark-green skin covered in runic lines. Beneath his flat nose, two sharp, boar-like tusks jutted upward, and his eyes were sharp.
Five or six troll Shamans followed behind him, all of them significantly weaker than him. Clearly, he was their leader.
Savagebone immediately composed himself upon seeing the newcomer. He bowed deeply with immense respect. “Lord Kasal.”
“Mhm,” Kasal acknowledged indifferently, his gaze falling on the scout as he waited for him to continue.
Seeing this, Savagebone repeated the scout's report.
Kasal did not seem particularly interested in the fact that a human caravan had been attacked. His gaze lingered on the scout's face as he asked a more critical question: “And the human? Did you capture him?”
Savagebone turned to look at the scout.
Feeling everyone's eyes on him, the scout quickly said:
“My Lord, we captured him.”
Savagebone immediately demanded in a cold voice, “Since you've captured him, did you get any information through interrogation?”
“Well... Lord Savagebone, I couldn't understand a single word he said. It would be best if you saw for yourself.”
Savagebone and Kasal exchanged a look, then walked toward the front of the line with a hint of confusion.
At the front of the procession, two trolls were firmly holding up a red-haired human.
But right now, the captive's posture was completely unlike that of a prisoner. He was twisting his neck with all his might, his mouth running a mile a minute:
“How insolent! How dare you treat this King this way?!”
“Do you have any idea what happens to those who offend this King?!”
“Mongrels, how dare you ignore me?!”
“This King—”
Just as The World Envies This King wanted to say more, his voice suddenly cut off mid-sentence.
His eyes swept over the dense crowd of trolls around him. The towering gray figures were spread out across the forest, stretching as far as the eye could see.
He instantly looked dumbfounded. “Why are there so many trolls here?”
Savagebone's brow twitched. Stepping forward, he drove a fist the size of a cattail leaf fan straight into the human's stomach.
The World Envies This King instinctively hunched over, but then he immediately realized—oh, right, he had set his pain sensitivity to zero percent as soon as he entered the game. It didn't hurt at all.
Just as he was about to sigh in relief, he looked down and saw a deep dent smashed into his brand-new Knight armor. His face instantly turned green.
Holy crap! My armor!
To be honest, The World Envies This King was quite bewildered. He had accidentally stumbled upon a caravan that seemed to have been attacked, which had made him rather happy. He had planned to see if he could salvage some valuable items to trade for Merit Points. After all, acting cool required capital. Although he had leveled up quite a bit from the last main questline, he didn't have many Merit Points to his name.
Thus, he had been extremely excited when he found the raided caravan. There were still plenty of supplies on it, which should sell for a good amount of Merit Points on the Player Shops.
But before he could even start, three burly trolls had suddenly burst out from the nearby bushes. Without a word, they restrained him and began interrogating him with all sorts of bizarre questions.
Then, for some unknown reason, they suddenly dragged him away.
And now, he was here.
He wasn't afraid anyway, since he could just resurrect if he died. He just felt pained over his armor.
“Speak!” Savagebone glared at him fiercely. “Who are you? Where did you come from? What were you doing sneaking around up ahead? What is your purpose?!”
Oh? An interrogation?
And you're asking who I am?
The World Envies This King's eyes lit up.
Isn't this the perfect opportunity to act cool?
In that case... it was time to put on a show!
First, he threw his head back and let out a wild, arrogant, and unbridled laugh:
“Hahaha—hahaha!”
After laughing, he tilted his face slightly, chin held high, his eyes filled with disdain and aloofness:
“Heh, mongrel. Since you have asked so sincerely, this King shall show mercy and tell you.”
“Listen well—” Clearing his throat, he exuded an overbearing aura.
“This King is the most benevolent, most virtuous, and supreme ruler who has traversed ten thousand worlds! Even the Hokage bows before this King, Frieza must steer clear, and even the God of Destruction has to show this King some respect!”
He sighed deeply, his face a picture of lonely sorrow, as if he were the only sober soul in a drunken world:
“Alas... this King was plotted against by that brat Conan and unfortunately fell. Fortunately, heaven always leaves a path open, and this King befriended Ainz Ooal Gown of the Great Tomb of Nazarick. We intended to plot grand schemes together, but unexpectedly, I was hunted down by the Human God and forced to flee to this realm.”
“And the purpose of this King's arrival in this world,” he raised his voice, his words striking like iron, “is naturally to find the Sword Saint, Reinhard, obtain the Dragon Sword, cross the Grand Line, and ultimately secure the legendary Holy Grail to reconstruct my physical body and reclaim my throne!”
“However, due to the suppression of this world's laws, not even ten percent of this King's power remains.”
He shook his head with a deep sigh:
“How tragic, how lamentable...”
“Alas, in the end, the world envies this King.”
Having finished his speech, he habitually tried to flip his bangs and put his hands behind his back, only to find himself completely pinned. He could only give up in disappointment.
Everyone present was utterly bewildered.
What on earth was he talking about?
Each word made sense on its own, but when put together, it was complete gibberish.
Hokage? Ainz Ooal Gown? Holy Grail?
Was this human a lunatic?
But just as they were staring blankly at each other,
Savagebone suddenly slapped his forehead, his eyes lighting up:
“I've got it!”
The World Envies This King: “?”
Even he was dumbfounded.
You've got it?
What exactly did you get?
