Young Master Guo looked in the direction he was pointing. With just a single glance, his heart raced at the sight of that peerless, pure, and refined face.
Unlike the heavily made-up women he usually saw, this fresh and refined beauty was truly a rare find.
“I've eaten too many ripe melons; suddenly, I want to try a tart little green plum~” Young Master Guo flashed a lecherous grin and walked toward Ning Qingzhu like a hungry wolf.
Jiang Moran cast a sideways glance.
Clang!
Fengqingzi lightly nudged his sword hilt with his thumb. The long sword rang as it left its scabbard by a mere half-inch, but that brief half-inch of steel instantly unleashed a biting sword qi!
The sword qi sliced across Young Master Guo's cheek like a thin thread, leaving a shallow streak of blood.
“One more step, and you die,” Fengqingzi said coldly.
“What...” Young Master Guo froze. It wasn't until he felt a sharp stinging sensation on his cheek that he realized what had just happened.
I... I was hurt?
The companions who had come with him were also stunned. They had never expected that anyone in Yinhan City would dare to lay a hand on Young Master Guo.
If anything happened to Young Master Guo... they would be finished.
The waiter was utterly terrified as well. Young Master Guo had almost come to harm right here, but the people on the other side didn't look like anyone he could afford to offend either!
“You dare to touch me?” Young Master Guo stared at him in disbelief, a storm of anger brewing in his eyes. “In Yinhan City, no one has ever dared to touch me!”
With that, he glared at them intently, then turned and left the tavern with his companions.
By now, the waiter was panicking. Their tavern was finished. They were completely finished!!
“Follow them,” Jiang Moran said casually.
Fengqingzi nodded and quietly followed Young Master Guo and his group out of the tavern.
“Young Master, did I cause trouble again?” Ning Qingzhu asked cautiously.
Seeing her anxious expression, he patted her head helplessly.
“Something that could actually be considered 'trouble' doesn't exist.”
...
The group followed a sullen-faced Young Master Guo through several streets, eventually arriving at a luxurious estate. Hanging above was a massive plaque that read: The Guo Residence!
As the group entered, the estate's heavy gates slowly creaked shut, and Fengqingzi's figure materialized by the entrance.
“Guo Residence.” Fengqingzi stared at the large characters on the plaque, a cold gleam passing through his eyes. He hadn't fought at the Prince's Residence last time, so it was his turn to satisfy his itch for battle today.
His long sword wailed, and the massive gates shattered with a deafening crash. Amidst the swirling dust, he stepped inside.
“Who goes there?! How dare you trespass in the Guo Residence!”
A crowd of guards rushed over at the noise, surrounding Fengqingzi. Instantly, the atmosphere became tense and hostile.
Facing such a formidable display, Fengqingzi remained unfazed. The long sword in his hand vibrated slightly, letting out waves of chill that spread outward in all directions.
A man stepped forward from among the guards, staring at Fengqingzi with a furious expression.
“I am the head steward of the Guo Residence. Why has Your Excellency broken into our estate and stirred up trouble without cause?!”
Fengqingzi's eyes were as sharp as blades as he looked at the man. “Go ask your young master,” he said coldly. “Unfortunately, he offended someone he shouldn't have.”
With that, he swung his long sword, sending out a crescent of cold light that swept through the air. Instantly, the heads of the surrounding guards flew.
Blood stained the snow on the ground red. The scene was instantly transformed into a gruesome slaughter. The steward's face turned pale with fright; he had never expected the intruder to strike with such absolute ruthlessness.
Fengqingzi spared him a casual glance, flicking his long sword to slash at his throat.
Clang! A sudden force struck the long sword, throwing it off course and causing it to merely graze the steward's skin.
Having survived this brush with death, the steward collapsed to the ground, paralyzed with fear.
“Your Excellency certainly carries quite the formidable presence.”
Fengqingzi followed the voice to see a man walking across the snow, idly tossing several flying daggers in his hands.
He suddenly recalled what the patron in the tavern had said about the eldest young master of the Guo Family, known as the Cold Moon Flying Daggers.
“A mere parlor trick.” The long sword whistled through the air, causing even the wind and snow to halt for a fleeting second.
Guo Yang dodged to the side and immediately clashed with Fengqingzi. Holding a flying dagger in each hand, he attacked aggressively from both sides. However, his fierce offensive couldn't even graze the hem of his opponent's robes.
The commotion had already attracted attention, and Master Guo along with the top experts of the clan came rushing over.
“Who is this? To think he can fight on equal terms with the Eldest Young Master of the Guo Family!”
“No, it's more than that. This intruder's swordplay is superb, and he's clearly holding back. At this rate, the Eldest Young Master won't be able to hold his ground for long!”
Hearing the whispers of the onlookers, Master Guo's face grew increasingly dark.
As if to confirm the crowd's words, Fengqingzi suddenly unleashed his power. Caught off guard, Guo Yang hastily blocked with his flying daggers, only to be sent flying by a sweeping strike.
With a wet slice, a deep wound opened from Guo Yang's palm to his wrist.
Meanwhile, Fengqingzi stood firmly in place, his breathing completely calm.
The onlookers gasped. The highly skilled Guo Yang had failed to even graze his opponent's robes. The gap between them was simply too vast...
Guo Yang clutched his wound, his face flushing with a mix of embarrassment and anger. He found this sudden, crushing defeat impossible to accept.
“Hmph! Zhang Long, Li Hu, please assist me in capturing this scoundrel,” Master Guo snorted coldly. Following his command, two of the estate's guest experts leapt forward.
Fengqingzi's eyes narrowed. He stood like a pine tree in the snow, sheathing his long sword and holding it vertically before him.
A perilous aura began to radiate from his body.
Zhang Long and Li Hu were the first to sense the danger. Yet, instead of backing down, they lunged forward.
Both were experts in body refinement who had honed their physical fortitude to the absolute limit; they had never feared anyone in close-quarters combat.
Splat! Fengqingzi had already zipped past them. Their eyes were wide, and they remained frozen in midair in their punching stances.
But a thin red line had appeared across their midsections. As the lines grew more pronounced, their bodies split cleanly in half. Blood instantly gushed out like a flood that had found its outlet.
Master Guo's mouth hung open, his eyes filled with nothing but sheer terror.
A wild wind howled from his left. Before he could even turn his head, a sharp crack rang out, and several cuts were torn across his face by flying shards of metal.
Guo Yang had blocked Fengqingzi's strike, but the collision between the flying dagger and the sword caused the dagger to shatter instantly. The shrapnel flew in all directions, cutting Master Guo's face.
“Enough! Your Excellency, leave some room for compromise so we can meet on better terms in the future. There is no need to push things to the absolute limit,” Guo Yang said in a low voice.
Fengqingzi looked at him and lightly flicked his long sword in front of him.
With a casual sweep of his arm, Master Guo's head rolled onto the ground.
Bloodshot lines climbed into Guo Yang's eyes as he stared at the white-clothed swordsman. He suddenly burst into loud laughter. “Hahaha! Good! What a great kill!”
Guo Yang stared at him and laughed maniacally. “Kill me too, then! Just a few days ago, several major noble families contacted our Guo Family, wanting to open a trade route through here, and I agreed!”
“Furthermore, many prominent figures in the jianghu have approached us to establish their sects in Yinhan City!”
“Hahaha! You killed him, what a great kill!”
Fengqingzi watched him silently, when suddenly, someone patted his shoulder.
His pupils shrank instantly. He swept his long sword backward. The fierce sword qi cleaved the air, his blade slashing behind him with unstoppable momentum.
“What do you think you're doing?”
The familiar voice made Fengqingzi freeze, but his strike had already been unleashed and could not be stopped.
Jiang Moran cast a glance at the oncoming blade. He intercepted it with a tree branch he had idly picked up on his way over. Incredibly, this casual parry easily blocked the powerful strike!
Fengqingzi's eyes went wide. It felt as if he had struck a steel plate. No, he could still slash a steel plate apart, but this was a mere tree branch!
The sheer force carried by his slash rustled the few leaves on the branch, making them hiss loudly.
“What, you looking for a fight?”
“No, no, please don't joke, Senior.”
Jiang Moran tossed the branch aside, looked at Guo Yang who was still laughing hysterically, and clicked his tongue.
“Little Feng, I've got to tell you, don't you understand the concept of killing without causing needless suffering?”
“How did you end up making him like this? Did you force yourself on his wife or something?”
Fengqingzi's face darkened. “No, I just killed his father right in front of him.”
You "just" killed my father?!
Guo Yang glared death at the two of them. “Just wait, you will be hunted to the ends of the earth by both the jianghu and the noble families! Hahaha!”
Jiang Moran frowned and leaned in close to Fengqingzi. “What's he babbling about? Did he take too big of a mental blow?”
