“Are you still not coming out?”
After drinking the healing magic potion, Luna looked into the distance and spoke.
As her voice fell, two figures walked out from behind a damaged wall.
One of them was carrying two people in his hands—none other than Count Ronal and his eldest son, whom the old Count had kicked away earlier.
“Calm down, Lady Luna. We have no intention of interfering in your grievance with House Ronal.”
The speaker was a burly man with brown hair and golden pupils, which was proof of his Titan bloodline.
Legend had it that Titans were god-level existences, but no one on the Elan Continent had ever actually seen a Titan. Even relevant documents were extremely scarce, consisting mostly of myths and legends.
The most important point was that there were no gods on the Elan Continent; the strongest beings were merely Demigods.
Even the deities enshrined in the Temple of House Aglaia were not actual gods, but rather the past Demigods of House Aglaia.
If gods had once existed in this world, why had they disappeared?
Thus, many people were skeptical of House Orlando's claim to be descendants of Titans.
However, one thing was certain: House Orlando indeed possessed an incredibly powerful bloodline.
In fact, this bloodline allowed the strongest members of their clan to reliably break through to the Demigod realm, which indeed seemed like a power left behind by a god-level entity.
Thus, the matter of House Orlando remained a mystery, as even they themselves did not know the origin of the bloodline in their bodies.
In any case, according to the information passed down from their ancestors, they possessed the Titan bloodline. As for the source of their bloodline, there were no precise records.
Luna recognized the newcomer. He was none other than Gareth Orlando, the eldest son of the current generation's Grand Duke Orlando.
The man behind him was likely his guardian knight, who also exuded the aura of the Seventh Circle.
The moment the two appeared, Aesera stepped forward, shielding Luna and staring at them warily.
“Don't be nervous, you two. We bear no ill will.”
Gareth had only come here to ensure Luna's safety. The intense battle that had just taken place naturally could not escape the eyes of House Orlando, the rulers of the North.
That cyan magic power was far too distinctive. Upon learning that someone from House Callis had arrived, Gareth had rushed over with his men to see what was going on.
Of course, no matter the cause of the matter, someone from House Callis absolutely could not meet with an accident in the North without their knowledge.
They had no desire to clash with that bunch of unreasonable madmen.
On their way over, they had run into Count Ronal and his eldest son, who were attempting to flee.
Seeing the direction of the commotion, Gareth was certain it was Count Ronal's territory. After stopping the Count and his son, he quickly figured out the whole story.
The declining Ronal Count's estate had wanted to make a desperate gamble at the final moment to restore the estate to its former glory.
And their way of gambling was to go to the Grand Duchy of Callis, search for discarded Callis descendants, and plunder the cultivation knowledge of House Callis from them.
What was this? Finding life in the midst of death?
Upon seeing Gareth, Count Ronal and his son were overjoyed, thinking that someone who could suppress that Grand Duke's daughter of House Callis had finally appeared.
Count Ronal wept bitterly as he rushed forward, wanting Gareth to uphold justice for him.
Gareth felt a massive headache coming on after hearing the whole story.
When it came to a family's cultivation knowledge, especially one involving House Callis—which was also one of the six great families—how could he possibly go looking for trouble?
Ignoring Count Ronal's bitter pleading, Gareth had his guardian knight seize the two and brought them straight back to the Ronal Count's estate.
“This is the fleeing Count Ronal and his eldest son. I've brought them back for you.”
Gareth waved his hand, and the guardian knight behind him threw Count Ronal and his son to the ground.
At this point, Count Ronal and his son were in utter despair. The backer they had counted on had absolutely no intention of saving them.
“Lord Gareth, our Ronal Count's estate once fought for the North as well, spilling our blood on the Celestial Battlefield. In consideration of my family's past contributions, please save us!”
As one of the great noble houses of the North, the Ronal Count's estate had naturally been a capable force under Grand Duke Orlando in the past.
However, over the years, with the decline of the Ronal Count's estate, their presence had rarely been seen on the Celestial Battlefield.
“Whoa, whoa, whoa, don't go dragging me into this. The Ronal Count's estate did indeed make many contributions in the past, but you also received rewards of equal value for those deeds.”
“Furthermore, during these years of your estate's decline, it was only because our House Orlando held them back that the other counts' estates didn't kick you while you were down. Otherwise, do you really think a single dying Seventh Circle could have allowed you to live so comfortably in the North?”
“House Orlando does not owe you anything in any respect. Besides, this matter involves a family's heritage of knowledge; House Orlando will certainly not get involved.”
‘Damn it, this guy actually wants to drag me down with him,’ Gareth thought, quickly distancing himself from Count Ronal.
“Lady Luna, I have brought the culprits of this matter back to you. How they are to be dealt with is entirely up to your discretion.”
Gareth's cold words completely shattered Count Ronal's final illusion.
Only now did Count Ronal believe that there was no longer any room for negotiation in this matter.
He let out a miserable laugh and turned to look at Luna.
“Your Highness, this matter was planned solely by my son and me. The other members of the Ronal family have no knowledge of it. Could you please spare their lives? They are innocent.”
Since things had reached this point, Count Ronal had completely resigned himself to his fate.
“There are many innocent people killed in this world. Countless innocent commoners lose their lives on noble lands every single moment. Innocence has never been a reason for the weak to survive.”
Luna had never been an emissary of justice. She was an extreme loyalist to her family; in her eyes, House Callis was above all else.
For the sake of House Callis's interests, she could, like Lanier, contemplate withdrawing from the succession struggle.
She could also raise her slaughtering blade against innocent people for the sake of House Callis.
She did not care about anyone's opinions. Any person or faction that posed a threat to House Callis was a target she had to eliminate.
With a swift rise and fall of her sword, Count Ronal and his eldest son fell one after another under Luna's blade.
“The matter here is concluded. I shall take my leave.”
The leaders of the Ronal family had been slain. Next, the remaining bloodlines of the Ronal family would be purged by the Enforcers of House Callis.
“I wish you a safe journey, Lady Luna.”
Gareth smiled and stepped aside. He wished nothing more than for Luna to leave immediately.
