A moment later, the welcoming instructor led Tyr and his group to a fork in the road.
“Now, the buildings on my left are the boys' dormitories, and the buildings on my right are the girls' dormitories.”
Tyr turned his head to look to the left. There were several luxuriously built apartment buildings over there, which looked highly upscale even from the outside.
Just then, the welcoming instructor gently tapped her finger, sending golden spots of light rippling from her fingertip.
Immediately after, Tyr and the others felt the badges in their hands vibrate. A golden glow then rose from them, trailing a long tail of light as it drifted into the distance.
“Children, the guidance from your badges will lead you to your respective dorms. Once you've put your things away, feel free to wander around the academy.”
“It's no exaggeration to say that the scenery of our Star Chant Academy is countless times more beautiful than those royal gardens. You can take plenty of gorgeous photos.”
“There is still a week left before classes officially begin. You can arrange your time however you like during this period, and you may even leave the academy. Just remember that you must return to school when classes start.”
The welcoming instructor snapped her fingers with a sharp snap and gave the freshmen a playful wink with her left eye.
Then, she walked back toward the palace where the teleportation magic circle was located; she still had to pick up the next batch of students.
“Brother Tyr, let's go for a walk after we put our things away.”
“Sure, sounds good.”
After saying goodbye to Sevira, Tyr followed the guidance on his badge and walked toward the boys' dormitory area.
A few minutes later, Tyr arrived at Building 3 of the boys' dormitory area.
The lobby on the first floor was quite spacious. Tyr also saw several magical creations resembling vending machines, similar in both function and appearance.
Guided by the badge, Tyr finally stopped in front of a room on the sixth floor.
Room 604.
Swiping his badge against the door handle, the door unlocked. Tyr and Avia stepped inside.
Entering the foyer, there was a small, independent kitchen on the left. Although not large, it was well-equipped with the main cooking appliances.
Leaving the foyer, there was a small bar counter on the right, perfect for setting out drinks.
Opposite was the living room, where a sofa, coffee table, and study desk were already set up, with a small balcony at the very back.
Turning right into the living room, pushing open the door at the very end revealed the bedroom.
To the left of the bedroom was an en-suite bathroom. Tyr pushed open the door to look inside; it even featured a dry and wet separation layout.
Yr roughly estimated the size of the entire dormitory—it was over forty square meters.
Most importantly, the dormitories at Star Chant Academy were all single rooms, meaning this entire space belonged to him alone.
In addition, a constant-temperature magic circle was set up throughout the dormitory, keeping the temperature at its most comfortable level regardless of the freezing winter or scorching summer.
“Not bad at all. Compared to this, the college dorm I lived in during my previous life was practically a dog kennel.”
Yr sat down on the sofa in the living room, stretching his arms as he sighed with appreciation.
On the other side, Avia had already begun tidying up the bedroom for Tyr.
Not long after he sat down, Tyr received a message from Sevira.
“Let's go, Avia. Let's head out for a walk.”
“Yes, Young Master.”
After putting everything in order, Avia followed Tyr out of the dormitory.
“Brother Tyr, over here.”
When Tyr emerged from the boys' dormitory area, Sevira was already waiting by the flowerbed between the two residential areas.
“Let's go. Let's wander around.”
“Mhm.”
Neither of them was familiar with the place, but fortunately, their academy badges contained a layout map of the school.
Opening the map on the badge, a virtual map appeared before their eyes.
This map could only be seen by the person carrying the badge; others could not see it.
Furthermore, the badge's functions could be controlled entirely with one's thoughts, without needing to tap with a finger. This perfectly solved the awkward situation of being stared at like some weirdo because others couldn't see the screen.
Walking through the campus of Star Chant Academy, the two curiously sized up their surroundings. To be fair, this place was indeed just as the welcoming instructor had described.
It was beautiful.
There were many students walking to and fro on campus. Some, like them, looked around with eyes full of curiosity, likely being this year's new freshmen as well.
Others strolled calmly through the campus with textbooks in hand, clearly upperclassmen.
“Hey, are you blind or something?”
Just as the two were enjoying the surrounding scenery, a harsh, grating voice suddenly called out.
Immediately following was a voice that was clearly laced with anger.
“You were clearly the one not looking where you were going.”
“Me, not looking? A mere commoner like you dares to question me?” The owner of the first voice sneered with disdain. “And even if I didn't see you, you should have the decency to get out of my way. Commoners should know their place.”
Hearing the conversation, Tyr frowned and turned his head to look.
Seven years of training in the Sword Prison had not erased the resolve he had forged as a soldier in his previous life.
He knew he couldn't save everyone who was unfortunate, but when such things happened right before his eyes, he wouldn't just stand by.
Of course, his prerequisite for helping others was still that the person themselves had to possess the will to resist.
But the moment he looked over, Tyr was slightly stunned.
Not far from them, five lavishly dressed nobles were standing, and opposite them were three commoners.
Loren, Winter, Alisha?
Although seven years had passed and their appearances had changed quite a bit, Tyr recognized them at a single glance.
Beside Tyr, Sevira also noticed the dispute over there.
Just as she was about to step forward to stop it, Tyr beat her to it and walked over.
“You guys, get out of the way,” Tyr said in a stiff, cold tone as he came up behind the five nobles.
“Who the fuck do you think you are? How dare you meddle in my—” The noble's temper flared instantly upon hearing someone dare to speak to them in such a manner.
However, when he turned around and clearly saw the face of the newcomer, the words he was about to say instantly caught in his throat.
“Y-Young Master Callis.”
The other four noble youth were in a similar state. House Callis's reputation had never been pleasant in noble circles; most nobles feared them.
“Beat it.”
“Ah, yes, right away.”
Hearing Tyr's words, instead of getting angry, the five noble youth looked as if they had just been granted a royal pardon. Delighted, they hurriedly scrambled away.
Having driven the five away, Tyr turned his head to look at Loren and the other two.
Seven years had passed, and the changes in them were quite significant. The reason Tyr could recognize them at a glance was because he had left a trace of his magic power on them when he departed.
