“Lady Luna, stop. The gap between the Sixth Circle and the Seventh Circle is even wider than the gap between the First Circle and the Sixth Circle.”
“Strictly speaking, once you become a High-level Transcendent, your physical strength already transcends the limits of humanity. You have no chance of winning.”
“If you stop now, I can let you leave.”
In the distance, the old Count stood high above, looking down at Luna on the ground.
Luna ignored the old Count's words. The magic circuits of Baina formed within her body, and she once again merged into the momentum of the wind.
Seeing Luna vanish from his sight once more, just as the old Count was about to repeat his old trick to force her out, he suddenly felt a sharp, piercing sensation coming from behind. The old Count spun around abruptly and raised the massive shield in his hand.
“Clang!”
Luna's figure materialized, her blade slashing against the massive shield with a deafening clang.
“How astonishing. How did you get up here?”
What surprised the old Count the most at this moment was not Luna's sudden appearance behind him, but the fact that she was actually flying.
As everyone knew, under normal circumstances, flying through the air was the exclusive privilege of High-level Transcendents.
Other than that, only those naturally born with the ability to fly or transcendents who could manipulate flight-related elements could fly through the air before reaching the Seventh Circle.
But the magic power of House Callis took the form of swords, which clearly did not include those flight-related types of magic power.
While the unique magic power of House Callis could not achieve this, Baina could help them do so.
The principle of Baina was to utilize the momentum of all creation in heaven and earth. Just as the wind element could help a user fly into the air, the momentum of the wind could naturally do the same.
However, compared to a wind-element transcendent, using the momentum of the wind to fly through the air required far greater mental energy and magic power consumption.
“There are still plenty of things you don't know.”
Luna's voice was icy cold. An even more terrifying sword magic power erupted from her body as a cyan sword glow surged into the sky, slashing toward the massive shield in the old Count's hand.
However, this strike did not cause any damage to the old Count, nor did it even push him back a single step in the air.
“Impressive strength. In the realm of the Sixth Circle, you can claim without modesty that you have already stood at the absolute peak.”
“But the Sixth Circle is still just the Sixth Circle. There is an insurmountable gap between it and the Seventh Circle.”
The old Count's tone was calm, and he certainly possessed the right to make such a claim.
“Now, get down there!”
With a loud hum, the massive shield in the old Count's hand radiated a brilliant, earthy-yellow light. Gripping the shield, he slammed it downward with force.
Luna felt as if a colossal mountain had fallen from the heavens, crushing down upon her body.
“Boom!”
The terrifying, colossal force pressed down, and Luna plummeted from the sky like a meteor crashing into the ground, kicking up a massive cloud of dust.
The terrifying impact caused some internal injuries, and a trickle of blood seeped from the corner of her mouth.
“Lady Luna, will you still not surrender?”
The old Count pressed down with one hand, his earthy-yellow magic power condensing in the air into a massive mountain, intending to completely suppress Luna beneath it.
Naturally, he did not have the courage to kill Luna. If he did, the next one to arrive might very well be Grand Duke Callis himself.
If Grand Duke Callis were to arrive in person, even the ruler of the north, Grand Duke Orlando, would not dare to take it lightly.
Let alone a mere Seventh Circle transcendent like him; the effort it would take for Grand Duke Callis to crush him was no different from crushing an ant.
What he wanted to do now was capture Luna and then head to Grand Duke Orlando, begging him to help mediate with House Callis on behalf of House Ronal's past contributions of fighting for this land.
House Callis would not show him any respect, but as one of the six great families of the Kester Empire, Grand Duke Callis would surely show some deference to Grand Duke Orlando.
The old Count had completely overlooked the fact that House Callis had not even shown respect to the imperial family back then. How could they possibly make concessions because of Grand Duke Orlando?
Or perhaps he did know, but this was the only way out he could think of. Thus, he did not dare to think about the worst-case scenario and could only deceive himself.
“Rise!”
Luna parted her lips slightly to utter a single word. An even more terrifying sword magic power erupted from her. Behind her, a colossal sword shadow materialized, and sharp sword qi rampaged, grinding the surrounding ruins into dust.
She forced herself to stand against the mountain-like pressure released by the old Count, slashing her longsword toward the sky.
The cyan sword glow was blindingly bright. The sword shadow condensed behind Luna suddenly soared into the sky, slashing upward against the mountain in the air.
“Crack.”
The sword shadow collided with the mountain, triggering a terrifying explosion. Although Luna's strike failed to shatter the mountain completely, it still fractured more than half of it.
The pressure dispersed by this massive fracturing was already enough for Luna to escape from the old Count's suppression.
With her magic power circulating, Luna once again merged into the momentum of the wind, vanishing from her spot.
In the next second, Luna's figure appeared right in front of the old Count, thrusting her sword toward his underarm.
“Clang!”
But before she could strike, the old Count had already twisted his body in advance, blocking Luna's attack with the massive shield in his hand.
Having learned her lesson from before, Luna did not engage in a head-on clash with the old Count. Failing to land a blow, she immediately merged back into the momentum of the wind, her figure vanishing from before him.
An instant later, she appeared on the old Count's other side, swinging her sword toward his neck.
“Clang!”
Luna's blade was blocked once more, and her figure vanished yet again.
After being repeatedly attacked by Luna, the old Count realized her intention, but he was not worried.
“A very clever choice. However, Lady Luna, although I cannot find you, you have no way of harming me either. If this continues, the first one to give out will only be you.”
Whether in quality or quantity of magic power, a Sixth Circle transcendent was inferior to a Seventh Circle. Although he was currently on the defensive, Luna's magic power would definitely be depleted before his.
Luna did not reply to the old Count's words. Her figure continuously flickered around him, striking only once each time and immediately retreating if the blow failed to connect.
Knowing that Luna was absolutely determined to deal with the Ronal Count's estate, the old Count stopped trying to persuade her. He planned to wait until her magic power was completely depleted before capturing her.
What the old Count failed to notice, however, was that each time Luna's sword struck his shield, several extremely thin wisps of sword magic power seeped through its weak nodes, beginning to continuously corrode the shield's interior.
Not only that, in places the old Count had not noticed, sword magic power was also pouring into the magic circuits he was deploying.
It was just that each individual wisp of this sword magic power was too minuscule—so tiny that even a Seventh Circle like the old Count failed to detect them.
