As the days went by, Haoyuan noticed that the tribespeople had begun practicing skills other than martial arts.
They threw spears, drew bows and shot arrows, crafted traps, and guided new hunters to join.
Furthermore, their training began to incorporate various strange abilities.
Such as throwing spears with fire, scaling cliffs with wind, and shooting arrows with thunder.
Various Divine Abilities were displayed one after another, catching Haoyuan's eye.
From the tribespeople's conversations, it seemed that as their strength recovered, they were gradually developing these strange abilities.
This appeared to be a new realm of power, largely thanks to the rich spiritual energy in this area helping them break through.
Haoyuan was highly intrigued at first, but after observing for a long time, he found their power to be rather average, and his interest gradually waned.
On this day, Haoyuan was reclined over the crater, watching the dragons spar with one another.
Individually or in groups, sudden assaults and encirclements, tactical dispersals, squad surprise attacks, flanking from behind, and besieging points to strike reinforcements.
All kinds of tactics emerged in an endless stream.
The Red Dragon often acted as the ultimate boss, getting ganged up on by the others.
It looked highly amusing.
Suddenly, Haoyuan's dragon whiskers twitched. He turned to look at the forest on the right, his brow furrowing slightly.
With a low rumble from him, the dragons instantly scattered and hid themselves in various places.
Shadows of the trees swayed as sunlight cast round patches of light from high above.
Si He and Yan Shou were leading the tribespeople to hunt a fierce beast that had strayed into the forest.
This happened to be a Horse-Faced Bear.
Their tribe had undergone a massive transformation; they possessed greater strength and brand-new weapons, marking a period of rising prosperity.
They were no longer afraid of a six-meter-tall Horse-Faced Bear.
This time, six hunters of the tribe, along with Si Yun and Si He, made up a total of eight experts.
If they could capture this Horse-Faced Bear and offer it to Lord Dragon God, it would further prove their determination and loyalty.
But just as they were preparing to launch a surprise attack, they suddenly heard human voices approaching from the distance.
“We clearly heard the sound coming from this direction, so why haven't we found anything even after searching for over a month?”
“Lord Bo has grown tired of eating tigers, leopards, and fierce beasts, and wants to eat dragon meat. But who knows where the dragons in this area have hidden themselves lately?”
“The Feilian Tribe actually refused to trade their dragons with us. What ungrateful fools. Once Lord Bo's strength improves further, we'll definitely teach them a lesson!”
A group of people, riding on a type of exotic beast that resembled both a tiger and a horse, was searching through the forest.
The exotic beast was shaped like a fine steed with a body as white as snow, a tail as black as ink, a single upright horn on its head, sharp tiger fangs in its mouth, and concealed tiger claws beneath its legs.
It possessed both the elegant posture of a horse and the fierce aura of a tiger or leopard.
Just looking at it would strike fear into one's heart.
Tai Xie looked at the deserted forest, a bitter feeling in his heart.
“I haven't even slept with that delicate young lady I snatched a month ago, yet here I am, searching for dragons in this godforsaken place...”
Tai Shan scanned the forest. Seeing the Horse-Faced Bear in the distance, his heart remained completely unperturbed as he said, “Stop complaining. Once we capture a dragon and head back, the Chieftain might be so overjoyed that he'll marry his daughter to you, along with martial arts techniques as a dowry.”
Hearing this, Tai Xie's face turned pale.
“The Chieftain's daughter weighs three hundred jin! She already tried to force herself on me during last month's victory feast. If not for my nimble moves and silver tongue allowing me to escape, I'd probably have been crushed to death by now. How can you make fun of me like this?”
Tai Shan smiled. “If you want the position of Chieftain, you have to marry her.”
“Then forget it. I'd rather marry the next Chieftain's wife—pah, daughter, I mean. Why can't the Chieftain just find another wife and have another child...”
“Didn't you know? He got stung down there while stealing a woman from the Scorpion Tribe.”
“Whoa! There's actually such a juicy secret?!” Tai Xie gasped, as the eyes of the people behind them lit up in unison.
“Shh, keep your voice down,” Tai Shan said teasingly, keeping them in suspense. “I'm only sharing this with you brothers to relieve our boredom, but you mustn't spread it around. Got it?”
“Understood!” everyone chimed in.
“Word is that when those Scorpion Tribe women get passionate, their bodies sway in a most alluring way. Our Chieftain had been lusting after them for a long time. Using a banquet as an excuse, he hooked up with one of the Scorpion Chieftain's women. They slipped into a small grove, unable to wait a moment longer. He stripped down, ready to make love, but in a moment of lost control, he grabbed her backside too hard...”
Just as he was getting to the best part, they suddenly heard the sound of a snapping branch from behind the Horse-Faced Bear.
Tai Shan looked up.
The others urged him to continue.
But just as he was about to speak, the Bo beneath him suddenly unleashed a drum-like roar that shook the forest.
Having heard the human voices and seen the exotic beast Bo, the Horse-Faced Bear had already been terrified and was trying to sneak away. This sudden roar startled it so much that its fur stood on end, and it scrambled on all fours, fleeing for its life.
Tai Shan and the others were surprised.
However, the Bo beneath them stamped its four hooves and suddenly bolted forward.
Yet, it did not chase the Horse-Faced Bear. Instead, it dashed in a different direction.
While the group was still dazed, a loud shout suddenly rang out from the distance.
“Run!”
Directly after, several figures emerged from behind a distant rocky slope, fleeing in disarray.
“Aha! There are people!” Tai Xie roared. His eyes suddenly swept over them, and he spotted two women among the fleeing group.
The younger one looked physically fit from her figure alone, while the older one possessed even more voluptuous curves.
All of a sudden, a wave of lust surged within him.
“Big brother, women!!”
“I see them!” Tai Shan waved his hand, and the crowd pursued them relentlessly atop their Bo.
Si He grabbed Si Yun's hand and fled for her life, her heart hammering wildly against her chest.
When they realized the newcomers belonged to another tribe and were riding the exotic beast Bo, they had made a decisive retreat.
Yet when they heard the word “dragons,” they couldn't help but pause. When they realized no more useful information was forthcoming and were about to leave, someone accidentally stepped on a dry branch.
They were in deep trouble now!
The Bo could run incredibly fast with wind beneath their hooves, and they were extraordinarily fierce, possessing a fondness for feeding on tigers and leopards.
Although they weren't far from the green fields, would they make it in time?
If they were caught, they would be finished.
“Hurry, run!”
Yan Shou urged loudly once more.
However, Si Yun had only recently become a hunter and lacked sufficient strength.
It looked as though those few Bo were about to catch up.
“Throw the spears!”
Yan Shou shouted.
Turning around, his spine coiled like a dragon, and he hurled the spear in his hand.
He was already naturally strong, having held a general-like status in their former tribe.
Having absorbed spiritual energy at the foot of the volcano for over a month, his strength had improved significantly.
As the spear was hurled, it flew toward the leading man, trailing raging fire and crackling like burning bamboo.
The others turned and threw their spears as well.
Si He raised her hand, instantly releasing arrows from her bow.
In an instant, attacks flew through the air like falling rain.
Tai Shan looked at this with disdain.
The Bo he rode lifted its front paws, and an invisible force rippled outward, altering the trajectories of the spears and arrows, causing them to plunge into the trees on either side.
The hunters' pupils contracted at the sight.
This exotic beast Bo was incredibly powerful.
Without hesitation, Si He gripped Si Yun's hand and ran for their lives.
The others also spun around and fled.
This delay cost them precious time.
Though it wasn't much, it was enough for the remaining Bo to catch up.
The hunters burst out of the forest, shouting, “Lord Dragon God, save us!!!”
Yan Shou and Si Cang grabbed Si He and Si Yun respectively, leaping out of the forest together just as they were about to fall within range of the Bo's attacks.
The moment they landed, Yan Shou and Si Cang immediately got to their feet, wielding blades crafted from the fangs of fierce beasts.
Meanwhile, Si He and Si Yun tumbled to the ground, clinging to each other.
Looking up, they cried out in unison, “Lord Dragon God, save us!!”
However, there was no sign of Lord Dragon God above the crater.
Only a few dragons remained at the foot of the volcano.
Their eyes widened as their hearts plunged into an abyss.
