Tai Xie and his men surrounded Si He and her group.
Tai Shan slowly walked out from behind the forest.
Upon surrounding them, the first thing everyone did was not look at the tribespeople on the ground, but rather direct their gaze forward.
They had heard these tribespeople crying out for Lord Dragon God to save them.
“Lord Dragon God?”
Tai Xie muttered, filled with suspicion and doubt as he cast his gaze into the distance.
At the end of the tribespeople's line of sight, there was indeed a dragon.
It was a dark green dragon over twenty meters long. Standing majestically upon a colossal boulder at the foot of the volcano, it watched them, with two flood dragons, each over ten meters long, coiled beneath it.
“Is that it?”
Relieved at the sight, Tai Xie mocked Si He and the others.
“Scared me for a second. I thought it would be massive.”
“A mere twenty-meter-long dragon dares to call itself a god?”
The men beside him burst into laughter, chiming in with their own mockery.
“Deputy Hunting Chief Xie, we can't really blame them. After all, dragons as exotic beasts only grow to a maximum of thirty-odd meters. It's only normal that they've never seen anything bigger.”
“Exactly. People from the backwater wilds have narrow horizons. A twenty-meter-long beast is already a deity to them. They were smart to choose a dragon, though; if they'd chosen any other creature, they'd be a laughingstock.”
At these words, the way Tai Xie looked at Si He and Si Yun instantly turned to utter disdain.
But they were women, after all, and beautiful ones at that, with fair, delicate skin. A roll in the hay with them would surely revitalize his body and spirit.
Just thinking about it made Tai Xie's heart itch. A wicked fire flared up within him, burning hotter by the second.
It left him parched and impatient, almost unable to restrain himself.
If no one had been around, he would have pounced on them, torn off their clothes, and taken his pleasure right then and there.
But for now, business came first.
Wetting his dry lips, he gave Si He and Si Yun a lecherous smirk.
“My little beauties, once I deal with your Lord Dragon God, I'll come handle you. If you serve me well and please me, I might consider sparing your lives. If your skills in bed are exceptional enough to satisfy me completely, I might even take you in as my women and give you an official status. Then I'll bring you back to our great tribe to enjoy wealth and glory, and let you witness what a true deity looks like.”
Hearing this, Yan Shou and the others glared with fury, but Si He raised her hand to stop them.
She did not know why Lord Dragon God was nowhere to be seen, but the scene of him opening his eyes in the cave was still vivid in her mind.
That gaze, which could pierce through one's physical form and peer directly into the soul, was bound to possess supernatural wonders.
Therefore, she believed that Lord Dragon God had already foreseen this situation and was simply biding his time.
Right now, they must not panic, and they certainly could not expose Lord Dragon God's existence. Since this self-righteous gang wanted to misunderstand, they could let them go right ahead.
“Oh? I didn't expect this young lady to actually hold some authority,” Tai Xie mocked.
Si He ignored him, turning her gaze back toward the dark green dragon.
Tai Xie glanced at the dragon. Believing that Si He was relying on it to save her, he sneered with disdain and said, “Once we capture your Lord Dragon God and offer it to our tribe's Bo God, peeling its skin, tearing its bones, drinking its blood, and eating its meat, let's see if you're still a mute!”
“Why go through all that trouble? Once we capture their Lord Dragon God, we can just pin her down right in front of it and have our way. Let's see if she still stays quiet then!” one of his men snickered lewdly.
Tai Xie burst into laughter, deeply pleased. “Now that is how you do things!”
With that, seeing they still refused to speak, he did not get angry. Instead, the anticipation of that scene sent his blood pumping with excitement. He waved his hand and commanded, “Take them away.”
He looked extremely impatient.
His subordinates immediately forced them forward, heading toward the dark green dragon atop the colossal boulder.
Tai Xie said to Tai Shan in excitement, “Brother, the Bo God has truly blessed us this time! I thought we'd never find a dragon, but who would have thought that chasing two broads would lead us right to a dark green dragon!”
Tai Shan was lost in thought, but at these words, he chuckled. “The Bo God has indeed blessed us. I suppose he foresaw your lustful nature and sent you out for this very reason.”
Tai Xie laughed with excitement upon hearing this. He cast another glance at the two beauties, then looked back at the dark green dragon. “That dragon is indeed protecting them. To think it hasn't even flown away upon seeing us.”
Tai Shan glanced at the dark green dragon and knit his brows slightly without replying. He felt that something was amiss.
It wasn't because everything was going too smoothly.
Rather, while these tribespeople were dressed shabbily in coarse animal skins and rough cloth, the spears they threw still carried the power of Divine Abilities. Even the women had skin as fair as snow, as though they had never labored under the scorching sun. Was this something a mere twenty-meter-long dragon could provide?
However, the green fields ahead were wide and open, with no other beasts in sight, so he let Tai Xie do as he pleased.
They had come here to look for dragons anyway, so capturing it as quickly as possible was the priority.
Riding their Bo, the group forced the tribespeople forward.
The dark green dragon did not fly away, nor did it make any moves. It merely watched them calmly.
Tai Shan's brows furrowed even deeper. He felt more and more uneasy. They were riding the exotic beast Bo, which could feed on tigers and leopards and was extraordinarily fierce. Even if that dragon possessed incredible combat strength, how could it possibly take on ten of them at once?
The two flood dragons beside it were not even worth mentioning; they had not even grown claws yet, showing how mediocre their strength must be.
With such a lineup, they didn't run upon seeing them?
Did they really cherish their believers that much?
Scanning his surroundings, there were no other exotic beasts, yet a sense of trepidation filled his heart.
The Bo they were riding suddenly ground to a halt.
Their bodies trembled as they began to step back.
Tai Shan's heart skipped a beat, and he fixed his gaze ahead.
Behind the dark green dragon, a flash of deep crimson emerged.
Tai Shan's heart clenched as a sense of dread peaked.
Sure enough, a massive dragon head slowly rose. Its sheer, broad scale made the dark green dragon before it look like a mere child.
Crimson claws gripped the giant boulder as it slowly hauled up its colossal, striking body.
Gradually, it dominated Tai Shan and his men's entire field of vision.
An unspeakable pressure slowly descended, striking fear into the hearts of Tai Shan and his men.
Tai Xie's legs shook uncontrollably. Grabbing the mane of the Bo beneath him, he slowly pulled back.
Yet, without waiting for his command, the Bo was already backing away.
Its movements were almost completely silent, not daring to make even a sound.
The Bo they rode were only slightly over twenty meters long. They could gang up on a twenty-meter dragon.
Against a fifty-meter-long Red Dragon, they stood absolutely zero chance.
Tai Xie gritted his teeth, his pupils dilated with terror as he stared at the gargantuan creature before him, unable to believe his eyes.
“To think these tribespeople from the backwater wilds were telling the truth... There really is a Dragon God.”
And yet, they had foolishly refused to believe it. They had mocked it with insolence and even taken the Dragon God's believers hostage.
At this thought, he looked toward the tribespeople.
To his surprise, his subordinates had already put away their weapons. None of them dared to hold the tribespeople captive anymore. Instead, they shrank low against the backs of their Bo, their bodies trembling as they retreated along with the beasts.
Sweat the size of beans drenched their clothes. Their bodies were extremely tense, and their eyes reflected absolute terror.
“Brother, what do we do?” he whispered in a low voice. His eyes remained locked onto the Red Dragon ahead, unable to look away for even a second, his teeth chattering uncontrollably.
It wasn't that he didn't know their only option was to retreat; he was simply too terrified to think straight and could only turn to his usually calm brother to find a shred of comfort.
