David asked blankly, “Wh-What kind of extraordinary ability is that?”
Hearing this, War Freya glanced back at David and chuckled. “If you're asking about this ability... it's just having pure raw power, I suppose.”
David muttered softly under his breath, “Raw... raw power?”
War Freya paid no heed to their stunned expressions. She strolled forward at an unhurried pace, yet that very relaxed, leisurely demeanor radiated an immense sense of oppression toward the other side.
The purple-haired woman stammered, “D-Damn it!”
As she spoke, she gritted her teeth and continued channeling her ability. The moment War Freya took five or six steps forward, the purple-haired woman's eyes lit up, and she roared, “Let's see you dodge this!”
The ground beneath War Freya's feet suddenly lit up in a complete circle—a dark green occult array. The purple-haired woman cried out, “Toxic Curse! A deadly poison potent enough to rot and kill all life in the blink of an eye!”
The purple-haired woman had used this move before. An extraordinary who fell victim to it had melted into a puddle of rotting sludge in just three seconds, reeking with an appalling stench, dead as dead could be.
As the occult array took effect, dark green veins began spreading up from War Freya's feet, quickly climbing onto her calves.
Visually, it resembled poison coursing through veins. However, once it reached her calves, the spread of the dark green veins slowed drastically—stagnating almost entirely—and after a few more seconds, it actually began to recede.
War Freya merely knitted her brows slightly and wiggled her toes. Right now, she felt as though she had been squatting on the toilet for too long—her calves had poor circulation and felt a bit numb, but that was all.
Rank Four Warriors possessed an ability called 【Toughness】 that enhanced defense, but this ability went far beyond merely boosting physical defense—it also maxed out resistance to toxins and diseases.
Not to mention, upon reaching Rank Five, this 【Toughness】 had received another upgrade. The current War Freya was even tankier.
Hence, War Freya was in no rush to step out of the occult array's area of effect. Crossing her arms over her chest, she stood there for a moment before saying to the purple-haired woman, “A deadly poison that rots all life in an instant, huh? Well, how much longer do I need to stand here before I die?”
“Y-You... you...” The purple-haired woman pointed at War Freya, so furious and shocked that she couldn't even form a coherent sentence.
After waiting a few more seconds until the numbness in her feet faded, War Freya resumed her leisurely stroll forward. But then... just two steps in, she suddenly sneezed. “Achoo~”
Rubbing her nose, she reflected that ever since stepping into this cell area, she had constantly been subjected to debuff effects. It was clear that this purple-haired woman was genuinely quite formidable. Even if it was just a slight cold and a tiny sneeze, she really had caught an illness, hadn't she?
War Freya glanced back at Victor and David. Tormented by the sickness, both men had gone weak in the knees, propping each other up and struggling just to stay on their feet.
Forget it, better wrap this up quickly and stop showing off.
With that thought, War Freya lunged forward, appearing before the purple-haired woman almost like a teleportation. Naturally, knowing the figure in front of her was merely a phantom, she didn't attack. She was just observing up close. Even if this person was an illusion, she had genuinely launched an attack earlier, hadn't she? Specifically, that death light cannon condensed in her hands.
With a quick sweep of her gaze, War Freya noticed that the purple-haired woman wore a ring on each hand, continuously radiating spirituality.
In all likelihood, these were extraordinary items capable of transmitting spirituality. The purple-haired woman's true body channeled spirituality into the rings, allowing this phantom to unleash abilities from here.
War Freya reached out, grabbed both rings, and effortlessly slipped them off. The purple-haired woman's phantom wore a completely dazed expression, having failed to react in time. Eyes wide, she stared at War Freya right in front of her and opened her mouth as if to say something, but before any words could emerge, she slowly dissolved into nothingness.
Yet at that very instant, right beneath War Freya's feet—where the purple-haired woman's phantom had stood—another occult array lit up. Densely packed, finger-thick beams of dark green light erupted from the ground like a crisscrossing laser net, almost blanketing the entire space.
These light beams were the Rank One Death Pathway ability known as 【Death Ray】, and the earlier 【Death Light Cannon】 had essentially been an enhanced version of this very thing.
From behind, Victor and David saw only War Freya engulfed by the dense barrage of light beams. David couldn't help feeling nervous; after all, those beams looked terrifyingly potent!
What was more, War Freya, standing right amidst the beams, actually cursed in sheer frustration, “Damn it!”
However, she didn't curse because she was injured. Once the trap's spirituality ran dry and the light beams dissipated, War Freya looked down at her tattered clothes, her expression souring.
Several holes had been burned into her top, particularly around her abdomen, exposing her slender waist and navel entirely. As for her feet, because so many beams had erupted straight from below, her shoes were completely ruined, the soles having vanished entirely.
On the surface, it might look like she was still wearing shoes, but in reality, her two bare feet were resting directly on the ground.
Balancing on one foot, War Freya lifted her right leg and casually pulled the shoe off, then did the same with the other foot. Since she was already walking barefoot anyway, the shoes were just awkwardly dangling around her ankles, which felt terribly uncomfortable, so she might as well discard them.
This also brought a very serious problem to War Freya's attention: while her own physical defense was extremely high, her clothes had practically no defense at all!
She vaguely recalled from the Marvel movies in her past life that the Hulk's shorts seemed utterly indestructible, never tearing no matter what beatings they took. Her current clothes, however, possessed no such magic; once hit, they shredded.
So War Freya really had to be careful in the future. Otherwise, what if her clothes got completely blown off in the middle of a fight?
As for right now, although her outfit was severely damaged, at least nothing indecent was exposed, making it barely tolerable.
Frowning, War Freya pushed off slightly with her feet and vanished from Victor's and David's sight. In an instant, she arrived at the deepest part of the cell, arms crossed over her chest, hovering midair. Her bare feet hung loosely, her toes dangling roughly a dozen centimeters above the ground.
The purple-haired woman's true body was currently squatting on the ground, seemingly scrambling to draw some new trap at the eleventh hour. And there War Freya was, quietly looking down on her.
