Ye Li followed suit, dislocating Yi Lin’s left arm as well.
The entire process was smooth and effortless, leaving Le Jun completely dumbfounded.
“H-How did you do that?” he asked, looking incredulous.
“It’s simple!” Ye Li smiled and began demonstrating for him.
“As long as you’re somewhat familiar with the structure of the human skeleton...” She lifted one of Yi Lin’s legs with both hands.
“Master the hand technique...” She planted a foot onto Yi Lin’s hip.
“And apply a little leverage...” Coordinating her hands and foot, she applied force at the same time.
Crack!
“Aaagh—!”
Accompanied by a shrill shriek, Yi Lin’s leg instantly went limp.
“I’ll do it one more time. Watch closely...” Fearing Le Jun hadn’t seen clearly enough, Ye Li considerately demonstrated again.
After another bloodcurdling scream, she clapped her hands together. “And there you have it. Did you get all that?”
Having watched an entire masterclass in bone dislocation with his own eyes, Le Jun stared blankly, the intense shock in his heart expressible in only two words.
Holy shit!
Seeing his dazed expression, Ye Li found it quite amusing and asked, “Do you want to give it a try? I can pop your joints out and put them right back in. Loosening up your bones and muscles feels pretty great, honestly!”
Le Jun shook his head frantically.
No!
He didn’t want to try in the slightest!!
Thank you very much, but no!!!
Ye Li stopped teasing him. Pulling a utility knife from her pocket, she crouched before Yi Lin, her eyes brimming with keen interest.
“Now, let’s see what kind of creature you actually are!”
By this point, Yi Lin was drenched in sweat, sprawled pathetically on the floor like a dead dog.
Yet not the slightest sign of yielding or pleading showed on her face; she remained hideous and frenzied, glaring venomously at Ye Li.
“How did you find out?” Extremely weak, her voice lacked even the strength to carry.
Ye Li waved the utility knife in her hand. “I used this to cut your right cheek earlier, but now the wound is on your left.”
Hearing this, Le Jun immediately focused his gaze, and sure enough, he spotted a faint red mark on Yi Lin’s left cheek.
The mark was barely noticeable; without a careful look, anyone would easily overlook it.
So right from the beginning, she knew this “Yi Lin” was an impostor.
“So what are you, exactly?” Ye Li asked, full of curiosity. “A ghost?”
Yi Lin glared at her with an ashen face, remaining silent.
Ye Li extended the blade and slashed directly across her face. Bright crimson blood welled from the wound at once.
“Not a ghost, huh!” Ye Li pursed her lips in slight disappointment, then began analyzing aloud to herself, “Then what are you? Yi Lin’s second personality? Or her malice?
“Regardless of what you are, after crawling out of the mirror and replacing the original, you became just like a human and lost your ability to harm people directly. Otherwise, you wouldn’t have gone out of your way to coax Luo Jiajia into attacking me. Am I right?”
“Hehehe... What if you’re right?” Malice flared in Yi Lin’s eyes as she glared resentfully at Ye Li. A deranged sneer curled her lips as she spat viciously, “None of you will escape! You’re all going to die! Every single one of you!”
Ye Li shrugged, entirely unconcerned. “Whether we die isn’t certain, but you’re definitely dying first.”
Every time the blocking wall vanished and the path opened, the “minced flesh” below would rapidly surge up, engulfing the floor.
This time was no exception.
While they were speaking, the “minced flesh” had already spread to the edge of the stairs, on the verge of spilling onto the fifth-floor corridor.
Ye Li raised the utility knife in her hand and slashed a deep gash across Yi Lin’s wrist.
Blood immediately trickled out, pooling on the floor and meandering toward the stairs.
Ye Li called out to Le Jun, and the two stepped onto the stairs leading to the sixth floor.
“What are you doing?” Le Jun asked in bewilderment.
Ye Li said, “Running an experiment.”
Soon, advancing toward one another, the blood and the “minced flesh” collided.
The bizarre substance, which had been creeping along placidly, suddenly began to surge violently, bubbling and churning like boiling water.
Then, the commotion grew even greater. The “minced flesh” rose and fell like ocean waves until sphere-like objects burst out of it one after another.
Densely clustered, they pressed tightly against each other.
Those spheres were the size of human heads...
No, or rather, they were heads!
As they continued to emerge upward, necks, torsos, and arms appeared, but no lower bodies.
Like clay figures standing half-buried in mud.
Figures sculpted from minced flesh!
Their faces had no eyes or noses, only gaping maws packed with dense rows of fine teeth.
Propping themselves up with both hands, the clay figures scrambled forward along the trail of blood in a frenzy. They crawled straight up to Yi Lin, buried their heads, and began devouring and tearing into her voraciously.
This grotesque scene left both Ye Li and Le Jun thoroughly stunned.
Neither had expected that when the “minced flesh” met blood, it would birth such monstrosities.
Recalling how people had died upon coming into contact with the “minced flesh” before, they suddenly felt a strange pang of relief.
Amidst the eerie, wet squelch of chewing, agonized shrieks rang out incessantly.
With all four limbs dislocated, Yi Lin had no ability to resist whatsoever, left lying on the floor at their mercy.
Yet she continued to spew venomous words, madly cursing and shrieking until she was reduced to a mangled mess of flesh and gore, her stomach and intestines ripped open, until the last trace of life left her body.
