It was only after a long time that Liu Ruyin finally released her bite.
A deep purple bite mark was branded on the side of her neck, and beads of blood trickled down her collarbone, soaking her collar in dark red.
She stared at the ring of teeth marks for two seconds, feeling that it still wasn't enough!
How painful could a bite to the neck even be?
At most, it would leave a faint mark that would fade completely in fifteen minutes.
Her senior sister had a profound cultivation and was a Soul Transformation sword cultivator; this tiny bit of pain would dissipate in an instant, and she wouldn't remember the lesson at all.
Her gaze slowly shifted upward, finally resting on Jinglian's lips.
It was these very lips.
Thousands of times, when she tentatively tried to draw close, they had spat out the coldest words to push her away. Thousands of times, when she resolved to pull away and leave, they had only to call out softly, “Junior Sister,” to shatter all of her defenses.
All those high-sounding excuses about being a burden and wanting what was best for her had come from this damn mouth.
If she didn't get her payback today, with interest, her surname wouldn't be Liu!!!
She grabbed her collar, yanked it down, and leaned in to press against her.
Their lips and teeth clashed together, wild and chaotic.
Liu Ruyin suddenly bit down on her lower lip, her teeth sinking deep into the soft flesh. A metallic, sweet taste of blood instantly spread between them.
She bit hard and fast, grinding against her lips again and again... wishing she could vent all of her thousand years of grievances through her teeth.
Jinglian stood there, bent over, completely still as she let her junior sister vent.
Her lips were bitten open in several places, the taste of blood mixing with a bitter astringency on her tongue.
She kept her eyes lowered, never once raising a hand to stop her.
The wound on the side of her neck was still seeping blood, but this tiny bit of pain was nothing compared to the thousand years of grievances A-Yin had suffered.
A cool dampness fell intermittently onto the back of her hand.
Jinglian couldn't tell if it was dripping blood or A-Yin's silently falling tears.
The scent of blood choked her throat, causing a piercing pain.
Dull waves of tightness and pain throbbed in her chest. It had nothing to do with her physical wounds; it was the guilt accumulated over many years, stabbing through her internal organs...
The person in her arms kept trembling, her lips shaking along with her. She had clearly intended to bite down hard, but whenever her teeth actually sank in, she would always hold back.
Despite the resentment on her tongue, the gentleness and accommodation in her bones had long since been engraved into her junior sister's very blood.
A heavy wave of self-mockery welled up in Jinglian's heart.
Her years of dodging and pushing her away time and time again had been nothing but self-deceiving cowardice.
Liu Ruyin's strength gradually faded. Her biting lost its rhythm, transitioning from its initial ferocity to a trembling caress.
Their lips pressed together, rubbing back and forth. It was hard to tell if she was venting her anger or simply reluctant to let go.
Seizing the moment her junior sister's momentum softened, Jinglian raised her arms and wrapped them around her waist.
She tightened her grip, locking her in a firm embrace.
Then, lowering her head, she proactively pressed her lips against her.
The kiss was very gentle, very slow.
All the hostility and brute force stripped away.
She sucked away the beads of blood from her junior sister's lips bit by bit, her tongue sliding between them to sweep away the remaining metallic sweetness.
For the harsh words she had spoken, for the hands that had pushed her away, for making her wait for so many years.
All her apologies were poured into this kiss.
“A-Yin,” Jinglian murmured, her lips brushing against the corner of the other's mouth, her voice raspy. “Please, don't leave your senior sister, all right?”
Liu Ruyin's sea of consciousness went completely blank.
Her entire body slumped into her senior sister's embrace, her legs too weak to support her. Her fierce, aggressive stance from earlier was utterly crushed by this kiss.
The warm, soft sensation remained on her lips, spreading inch by inch through her entire body.
In her daze, she couldn't help but think, how was her senior sister so good at kissing?
She had clearly been the one to start it, so why was she the one who ended up weak in the knees?
“Is this your first time, Senior Sister?” Liu Ruyin tilted her face up and blurted out.
Jinglian's body stiffened.
Her lips were stained with beads of blood, the bite mark on the side of her neck was distinct, and her collar was pulled completely askew.
Looking down at the person in her arms, she saw that her junior sister still had tears clinging to the corners of her eyes, which were red-rimmed. Her lips were chafed and split, yet she asked this question with an utterly serious expression.
The jump in conversation was so sudden that she couldn't react for a moment.
Seeing that her senior sister remained silent, Liu Ruyin took it as confirmation. The suffocating knot of grievance that had blocked her chest for a thousand years suddenly dissipated by more than half.
She reached up to hook her arm around Jinglian's neck, pulling her down until their foreheads met and their noses brushed against each other.
“That's perfect then.” Pressing her lips against her senior sister's, her spiritual energy intertwined with Jinglian's as she suddenly grew domineering.
“Senior Sister's kisses are mine, and your person is mine too.”
“If you ever dare say any more nonsense about being a burden again, this seat will kill you, stuff your soul into an illusion array, and make you sink into oblivion with me for eternity.”
Jinglian's throat tightened. She tightened her arms even further, locking the other completely in her embrace. Resting her chin on the top of her head, she replied in a raspy voice, “I won't say it. I'll never say it again.”
“Really?”
“Really.”
Liu Ruyin's eyes grew hot, but she forced the sourness back down.
After waiting for a thousand years, she finally had her promise. Yet, her heart still felt strangely empty.
Could there really be something wrong with that medicine?
A-Ci didn't lace it, did she?
Did Senior Sister really just agree to this so easily???
The more she thought about it, the more uneasy she felt. She simply cupped her senior sister's face and leaned in to inspect it closely.
She reached up to pinch Jinglian's earlobe, then stroked her brow bone. Her fingertips slid slowly along the jawline to her chin, finally resting on the fresh bite mark on the side of her neck, pressing it gently.
There was no strange aura of possession, nor any spiritual energy fluctuations of a disguise technique.
This face was real.
The person before her was also real.
“Senior Sister, show me a cold face,” Liu Ruyin said, withdrawing her hands as she made this solemn request for the second time. “I'm actually having a hard time getting used to this.”
Jinglian froze instantly.
“How about I accompany you to Medicine Valley? The Golden Soul Essence-Tempering Liquid is a Heaven-grade spiritual item; there's no guarantee it won't leave behind some kind of side effects...”
Before she could even finish her sentence, Jinglian released her arms from around her junior sister's waist.
That face, which had always remained unperturbed by anything in the world, shattered completely. There was no rage, nor her usual coldness. It was an expression Liu Ruyin had never seen before.
It was as if she had been shoved from a high place, her mind completely blank, unable to process the pain in time.
Weakly, she stumbled back several steps, her lower back slamming hard against the edge of the table. She tried to brace herself but failed to find purchase, sliding down along the leg of the table until she sat on the floor tiles.
Liu Ruyin stood where she was, looking at her senior sister slumped on the floor. Her dark hair was disheveled, and half of her face was buried in shadow.
She sat there in silence, like a discarded sword stripped of its sword intent.
For the first time, a thrill of revenge welled up in Liu Ruyin's heart.
So Jinglian could also lose her composure like this.
The high-and-mighty Sword Venerable could actually be crushed by a single sentence until she couldn't even stand.
How casual and effortless she had been in the past, always maintaining her lofty sword bone, talking endlessly about acting for her junior sister's sake while pushing her away time and time again.
Yet, a mere “not used to it” had reduced her to such a state.
Tsk, how ironic!
After the momentary satisfaction, a sour feeling welled up in her chest again.
She had waited a thousand years, and what she wanted was definitely not her senior sister in this state. She wanted her senior sister to kneel on the bed and crawl toward her step by step...
Not like this—toppling at a single push, shattering at a single touch.
“Senior Sister,” Liu Ruyin stepped forward, bending down to help her up. “The floor is cold. Get up and talk.”
Jinglian didn't move.
Only after a long while did she raise her hand, resting it on Liu Ruyin's forearm.
“A... A-Yin, you mentioned it twice. Are you truly not used to it?”
