Shen Qingci clung to her wife and fooled around in the hot spring pool for five days.
For the first three days, she was always on top.
Her senior sister indulged her, only furrowing her brow slightly and making no sound when her back was pressed against the pool wall.
Only when she was teased too hard would she gently pat her lower back and say softly, “Slower.”
How could Shen Qingci slow down? She scooped up the hot spring water and splashed it onto her senior sister's collarbone, only to be stopped when Chi Yuan grabbed her wrists and scolded, “If you keep misbehaving, I'll throw you out.”
On the third night, Chi Yuan rolled over and pinned her junior sister down!
Wet bangs clung to the side of her face, her eyes burning with intense desire as they locked onto her face.
Shen Qingci's heart skipped a beat, but she still talked tough: “Has Senior Sister finally seen the light?”
Chi Yuan did not answer. She merely leaned down, pressing her cool lips against the back of her neck, moving down bit by bit...
From then on, Shen Qingci never managed to get back on top. Wrapped tightly in an outer robe by her senior sister, she was carried back to the main bedroom.
The red candles had already burned down halfway, a thick layer of wax pooling in the holders. The mermaid-silk curtains were half-drawn, and Chi Yuan had waved her hand to extinguish several of the spiritual lamps, leaving only the faint, warm glow on the low table.
Shen Qingci lay on the bed, feeling as if her bones were about to fall apart. She couldn't even lift her arms, her lower back was sore and numb, and her inner thighs were terribly soft and swollen.
Her voice was hoarse, her eyelids heavy. With half her face buried in the soft pillow, she could only trace her senior sister's figure with her eyes as she moved about.
Chi Yuan reclined half-way on the edge of the bed, her collar slightly open, her ink-black hair cascading over the pillow.
The candlelight cast a soft glow over her face, softening her usual cold demeanor by several degrees.
“A-Ci, does your back still ache?” she asked.
Shen Qingci buried her face in the blanket, refusing to speak.
Ugh, her dream of being a dominant top was shattered in half!!!
Chi Yuan reached out and pressed her hand against Shen Qingci's lower back through the blanket. “Be good, let your senior sister massage it for you.”
Allowing herself to be massaged, Shen Qingci mumbled, “Senior Sister, did you plan this all along? Letting me have my way for the first three days, only to take it all back in the next two.”
Chi Yuan replied with a straight face, “Mhm, I did.”
Shen Qingci poked her head out of the blanket, glaring at her in annoyance.
But with the lingering moisture in her eyes, even her glare looked like a spoiled pout. Watching her, Chi Yuan's lips curved slightly. She continued to massage the other's waist, rubbing until her junior sister grew drowsy.
“Five years apart, and you've certainly grown quite capable,” Chi Yuan said.
“What capability?”
“A silver tongue.” Chi Yuan cast a sidelong glance at her. “You dared to say anything in the pool, but now you've gone quiet.”
The tips of Shen Qingci's ears turned red.
Those words were all forced out of her by her senior sister in the heat of passion. How could she ever dare to repeat them under normal circumstances?!
Now that they were being brought up, she wanted nothing more than to pull the blanket over her head and pretend she didn't exist.
Seeing this, Chi Yuan stopped teasing her and simply asked, “Other than your waist, is there anywhere else that feels uncomfortable?”
“My legs...” Shen Qingci said softly.
Chi Yuan's hand slid down to her calves, channeling her spiritual force through her palms to disperse the soreness.
Shen Qingci felt incredibly comfortable under the massage. Her eyelids grew heavier, yet she forced herself to stay awake.
“Senior Sister, A-Ci isn't sleepy...”
“Mhm, you're not sleepy,” Chi Yuan agreed, going along with her junior sister's words. Her fingertips continued to press and knead, dissolving the tension accumulated in her limbs.
Shen Qingci's mind was in a haze. Amidst the fog, she remembered something. She forced herself to muster some energy, though her eyes were nearly glued shut.
“Senior Sister, there's still some serious business I haven't told you yet.”
Without stopping her massage, Chi Yuan hummed in response, signaling A-Ci to speak.
“The Gu family's vassalage covenant has been signed. Aside from paying ten percent of their annual net profits to the Shen family's treasury, another five percent will be allocated under Senior Sister's name, kept in a separate account, bypassing the public ledger.”
The more Shen Qingci spoke, the more alert she became, her previous drowsiness mostly dissipating. “Gu Huaiyan established a long-term covenant. As long as the Gu family exists, this stream of income will always be there.”
Chi Yuan raised an eyebrow. “Five percent? Isn't that too much?”
She cultivated the Dao of the sword and had grown up on Wanjian Peak, where her food and resources were all part of the sect's standard distribution.
But the Gu family was no ordinary household; they were a deep-rooted second-tier great family in the Southern Region, with clan industries supporting millions of collateral branch members. Five percent of their annual net profit would accumulate into an astronomical sum over a few years.
Receiving it for no reason felt like holding a hot potato.
“The Gu family signing a vassalage covenant with the Shen family and yielding profits to them is only right. But I am neither a member of the Shen family nor have I ever contributed the slightest effort to the Gu family. It stands to reason that this five percent profit shouldn't fall on me.”
Chi Yuan looked down at Shen Qingci, her tone calm. She wasn't rejecting it outright, but simply explaining the underlying logic to her junior sister.
As soon as those words were spoken, Shen Qingci flung back the blanket and sat up.
She was too lazy to pull up her sleepwear as it slid down her shoulder. Instead, she first reached out to hook her fingers through her senior sister's, gripping them tightly before speaking: “How can Senior Sister not count as a member of the Shen family?”
“You are the Dao companion I have chosen, the future wife of the Shen family's head. The Gu family is vassal to the Shen family, and the Shen family's affairs will sooner or later be yours as well.”
“If this five percent isn't allocated to you, I will be the first to object!”
When she said “the future wife of the Shen family's head,” she enunciated each word with extreme clarity, solidifying their official status once more.
Having said that, she leaned down, catching her senior sister's index finger between her teeth, and mumbled, “Didn't Senior Sister promise last time that once we meet my mother, we will formally establish our official status?”
“Are you going to back out now, after having already taken your junior sister?”
Chi Yuan's fingertip was enveloped by a warm mouth, her junior sister's tongue slowly brushing against her finger pad...
Her breathing grew irregular, yet she forgot to pull her hand back. After a moment of silence, she said, “I am not backing out.”
“It's just that A-Ci is giving too much, too completely... I worry that some within the Shen family might grow dissatisfied with you because of this, threatening your position as the successor.”
“Great families and clans are naturally full of conflicting interests and complex hearts.”
Shen Qingci released her finger and looked up at her. “Don't worry, Senior Sister. With Mother presiding over the Shen family, they won't be able to stir up any trouble.”
“Even if those people are green with envy, the most they can do is whisper sour words behind my back. They can't touch me in the slightest.”
“I want Senior Sister to accept it because you are meant to share all of this with me. This five percent from the Gu family is just the beginning. From now on, half of everything under my name will belong to you.”
Chi Yuan gazed at her for a long while before replying, “Alright, I will accept it.”
Hearing this, Shen Qingci's expression softened into a bright smile. She leaned back into her senior sister's embrace, haphazardly tugging at her sleepwear that had slid down her shoulder.
Suddenly remembering something, she retrieved the storage bag her aunt had given her from her storage ring and stuffed it into Chi Yuan's hand.
“This is Aunt's Nascent Soul congratulatory gift for you. It contains dozens of Mystic-grade array plates, as well as two Earth-grade Low-rank defensive array plates.”
“She said that since you've just left the Sword Tomb and will be traveling around with me from now on, you should have some decent defensive items on hand.”
Chi Yuan took the bag and swept her divine sense inside.
The storage bag was packed full, the array plates neatly arranged in sequence. Their quality was several degrees superior to those displayed in auction houses.
“A-Ci, did Ancestor Tinglan leave any other instructions?”
“Aunt also said that from now on, Senior Sister must call her Aunt.” Shen Qingci smiled mischievously. “In my opinion, it's time for you to change how you address her.”
Chi Yuan's face remained calm, but the tips of her ears were flushed a faint pink. “When we go to Qinghe County in the future, I will go pay my respects with you.”
