Ning Busan's will replaced Divinity's.
He saw the formless gray mist, and he also saw the God of Light and the others burning their source power to resist the invasion of Chaos.
Lucifer's eyes lit up. “Ning Busan!”
Ning Busan nodded. “It's me.”
“I'm back...”
Ning Busan took out the Crown of the Divine King. The silver-white crown flew above the continent, slowly rotating and emitting a brilliant light that completely sealed out the gray mist.
Lucifer asked, “What do you need us to do?”
“You can rest now. Leave the rest to me,” Ning Busan said. “In any case, this world isn't completely finished yet.”
The God of Light slowly walked toward Ning Busan.
Ning Busan asked, “What are you doing?”
The God of Light said, “Giving you a gift.”
A beam of milky-white light shot into Ning Busan's chest.
Ning Busan's pupils contracted. “This is...”
The God of Light said softly, “You will need it.”
Ning Busan asked, “You clearly met Rationality, so why did you still choose to give such an important thing to me?”
The God of Light sighed. “Pure rationality cannot comprehend the weight of this power. Only in your hands can it be put to its full potential.”
Ning Busan promised solemnly, “I will.”
A hint of a smile flashed in the God of Light's golden eyes.
...
Ning Busan went to the roots of the World Tree.
He dug up two large clumps of clay from deep underground. After shaping them into human forms, he began to meticulously sculpt their facial features and body proportions.
Since he was going to fashion bodies, clay was naturally the most practical option!
In the sea of consciousness, Divinity and Rationality watched this scene, their fists clenching simultaneously.
This lunatic Ning Busan was actually using clay to mold their bodies!
Was he really this unreliable?
In truth, they were worrying for nothing.
Ning Busan materialized abstract laws like time and space into weaveable fibers, wrapping them around the two clay figures.
Then, he extracted substances from the Ruins Beyond the Boundary that even Chaos could not assimilate, slowly blending them into the clay figures.
This way, these two bodies would be able to house the wills of Divinity and Rationality without easily collapsing.
To be safe, Ning Busan decided to fire-temper the two clay figures.
What fire should he use?
The Fire of Creation, of course!
By now, Ning Busan could easily manipulate time and space, so he drew a circle in the air and reached his hand inside.
“Gimme that!”
Meanwhile, tens of millions of years ago, the Silver-Crowned God was lying atop the World Tree, looking at the new world he had just created, a smile playing on his lips.
In his palm, a golden flame burned brightly.
It was the very first flame at the dawn of the world's creation.
Just as the Silver-Crowned God was feeling deeply moved, a hand suddenly reached out in front of him. After groping around for a moment, it snatched the flame from his hand and ran.
The Silver-Crowned God grabbed the other's wrist.
The other party slapped him directly, then drew a massive question mark in the air.
The Silver-Crowned God fell silent.
Even though he knew the other party was his future self, did he have to be so brazen about stealing his things?
The Silver-Crowned God chuckled and let go.
On the other side, Ning Busan obtained the Fire of Creation and began using it to temper the two clay figures.
However, even after everything was successfully completed, Divinity and Rationality still could not leave Ning Busan's sea of consciousness to enter the two clay bodies.
Ning Busan scratched his head. “This shouldn't be happening! Why is there no response?”
The branches of the World Tree swayed, making a rustling sound. “Na... mes...”
“Oh, I get it!” Ning Busan realized. “They need to be given names before they can accommodate those two wills!”
Divinity and Rationality roared at the same time, “Wait!”
Too late!
Ning Busan had already shouted, “Ning Buyi! Ning Buer!”
The two clay figures vanished, replaced by two True Gods.
The one on the left wore a silver-white robe, with a star composed of countless tiny points of light floating above his head.
The one on the right was dressed like a scholar, wearing gold-rimmed glasses, which did not make him look elegant but instead glinted with a cold light.
The two of them stared straight at Ning Busan.
Ning Busan waved his hand modestly. “No need to thank me too much!”
Divinity's eyes glinted with murderous intent. “Who allowed you to use clay?”
Rationality asked with a dark face, “Who allowed you to give us such names?”
Divinity could not accept that his body was actually molded from clay.
And what angered Rationality was that his name had been decided so casually by Ning Busan.
Seeing things turn south, Ning Busan yelled, “Don't forget, we've already made a divine contract!”
Rationality sneered. “The divine contract only states that we will banish the Will of Chaos with you. It never said we couldn't lay a hand on you.”
Ning Busan said resentfully, “I worked so hard to fashion bodies for you, and the first thing you do after getting them is try to beat me up? Where is the justice in this?”
Divinity looked utterly disgusted. “Once we deal with the Will of Chaos, we'll have plenty of time to settle this score.”
“If the Landia Continent is not destroyed within seven days, the Will of Chaos will come with his xeno army.”
“We don't have much time left. We should quickly figure out how to deal with the Will of Chaos.”
Ning Busan suddenly remembered something and asked, “By the way, do you two know where Leo is?”
“We're about to go to war with the Will of Chaos, and at such a critical moment, he actually goes missing? He didn't run away because he's afraid I'll settle scores with him, did he?”
Divinity and Rationality exchanged a look, their expressions turning a bit subtle.
That Destiny?
Since Destiny did not interfere, it meant everything was developing along its established path.
Rationality said meaningfully, “Everything we do is under his gaze. He will appear when we need him.”
Ning Busan found it impressive despite not fully understanding.
“Listen to me now,” Rationality said seriously. “Banishment of Chaos is no easy task. It requires our cooperation.”
“My plan is...”
The three of them began to discuss the specific battle plan.
...
Chaos arrived as scheduled.
At first, it was just a sliver of gray on the horizon, but in an instant, that darkness swallowed the entire sky.
The gray mist rolled and writhed, undulating like the internal organs of some living creature. From within the mist came tens of thousands of indescribable screeches as the xeno army clamored to tear everything apart.
The Will of Chaos appeared in the center of the gray mist. It was a massive face composed of constantly flowing matter, possessing no fixed shape but overflowing with pure malice.
The Will of Chaos's voice was cold: “I said I would give you seven days. Since you cannot destroy this world, I will do it myself.”
The earth began to tremble, rivers flowed backward into the sky, the trees in the forests withered instantly, and the mountains warped and deformed like melting wax.
The Will of Chaos was rewriting the laws of this world, turning order into disorder and leading life toward nothingness.
